Fabric and sustainability
What kinds of fabric do you use to make your garments?
The fabric used for our bralettes and briefs is 95% organic cotton and 5% elastane to give them a bit more stretch. This excludes the exposed elastic on our underbust bands, waistbands, and leg bands.
Our socks are made from merino, blended with nylon and elastane for strength and durability which means they will spend more time in your sock drawer before reaching the end of their life.
Our swimwear is made from ECONYL® yarn, a 100% regenerated polyamide made from nylon waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic rescued from all over the world. Using ECONYL® regenerated nylon means we are able to create a durable product that’s fit for the water.
Our activewear fabric is 76% Recycled Nylon, 24% Spandex. The recycled yarn is made from fishing nets, plastic bottles and textile waste.
Can I put my garments in the compost?
As our cotton garments are blended with elastane, they cannot be composted. A sustainable alternative is to turn old garments into cleaning rags and stuffing for cushions!
How do I care for my Nisa underwear?
To keep your underwear in tip top condition:
- Wash in cold/warm water - not hot!
- Wash with similar colours
- Wash it in a lingerie bag so that zips from other garments don't snag the fabric
- Line dry - do not tumbledry!

How many people do you employ?
We have 12 employees at the moment, and a wider team of 15 people. Our aim is to grow so we can employ more amazing women!
Before and after your order
Do you do plus sizing?
Yes we do! We go up to a size 4XL. Check out our plus size range.
What range of bra sizes do your bralettes accommodate?
We offer customisations for some of our bralettes to provide a larger cup - in our experience, this works well for customers up to about an E cup. We've had feedback from some customers who are above this size who love their Nisa bras, while others say they don't feel supported enough without an underwire. What we recommend is trying it on briefly at home so that it can be returned if it doesn’t feel right.
How do I go about ordering a bralette with a customised cup size?
Our team can customise our Albertine, Olivia and Gia bralettes to have one cup size smaller or larger than the original garment. Just add the customisation product to your cart along with the bralette that you want customised.
How do I go about ordering a bralette with thick straps?
Some bralettes can be customised to have 19mm thick straps rather than 12mm straps. This option is currently available for our black, mist, moss, and rose bralettes. Just add the customisation product to your cart along with the bralette that you want customised.
Some key info to know about our customisations:
- Each customisation costs $10 extra!
- We cannot organise returns for customised bralettes as they are difficult to resell due to their unique qualities.
What do I do if I’ve discovered a defect/flaw in my garment?
