Gold Week is the New Black

Gold Week is the New Black
Gold week update 10.12.23: We will be donating $1132 to Médecins Sans Frontières thanks to our customers, whose purchase decision turned Black Friday into Gold.

Since the 1950s, the day after American Thanksgiving has been considered the official start of the holiday shopping season. The phrase itself signifies the day when retailers’ financial years would finally turn a profit, going from “in the red” to “in the black”. In recent decades this first day of holiday shopping has increasingly been marked by massive discounts, long store opening hours and online shopping sales. It’s also becoming more heavily marketed around the world and extending from a single day to a weekend and even a week’s worth of discounts. Gold Week: What Nisa's doing instead of Black Friday

Nisa is hosting a Gold Week from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 November, where we will swap out Black Friday discounts with Gold Week donations to a good cause!

20% of profit from this week’s store sales will be donated to support the ever so important aid that Médecins Sans Frontières (English translation: Doctors without Borders) are providing in Gaza, Sudan, Syria and many other areas around the world.

medicins sans frontieres

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international and independent medical humanitarian organisation delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. They offer assistance based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

If you are in need of some quality sustainable underwear, merino socks or ethical activewear, for yourself or others, please consider buying from Nisa this week. Or, you can donate online to Médecins Sans Frontières.
